Protein Waffles
The perfect weekend guilt-free treat!
It’s the weekend and you want to spoil yourself and your family with a beautiful and tasty breakfast, or you want to make the perfect dessert for lunchtime-but you don’t want your choices to mess with your healthy lifestyle and your goals? This recipe is your perfect solution! These protein waffles are packed with protein which will keep you fuller for longer, and really easy to make! You can choose to top your waffles with any of your favourite toppings (healthy of course 🙂 ), from honey and fruit, to some nut butter/nuts, but our favourite toppings include some honey and Carb Clever ice-cream from Woolworths or Mi Whey strawberry flavour protein ice-cream.
Ingredients:
-1/3 cup of rolled oats (oats rolled very finely-use rolling pin for an arm workout or a food processor)
-1/4 cup of cottage cheese
-2 Tbsp of vanilla whey protein powder
-1 large egg
-1/2 tsp baking powder
Method:
Preheat your waffle pan, and mix all the ingredients together. Spray the waffle pan wit a non-stick cooking spray and pour the batter into the waffle pan. (Recipe makes two waffles). Allow to cook for plus minus 5 minutes or until golden brown. Top your beautiful waffles with your choice of toppings and enjoy 🙂
