Overnight Oats
No-Fuss Healthy Breakfast
Overnight oats is one of the staples in our household, not just because it tastes absolutely delicious and is packed with goodness, but also the convenience of grabbing your ready-made breakfast when you have a busy morning is just unbeatable.
A lot of meals tend to not be “as nice” the longer it sits before consumption. With overnight oats it is quite the opposite. Leaving your oats to soak overnight in the fridge is best, the more patience the better. Overnight oats will last for up to 5 days in the fridge, so prepare a jar at the start of the week and enjoy all week long!
Ingredients:
1 cup oats
1 cup milk
1 cup plain yogurt
1 TBS cocoa powder
1 or 2 sweetener sachets to taste
Method:
Take the oats, milk and yogurt and mix together thoroughly. Add the cocoa powder and mix through thoroughly, often this takes long and the mixture looks quite liquid. Add the sweetener to taste, we personally use one sachet of sweetener.
Scoop the mixture into a glass jar and seal, leave overnight to soak. The oats absorb a lot of the fluid and swell up overnight, leaving a mixture that is quite thick and easy to dish up into a bowl to be enjoyed either warm or cold.
